Why Do I Feel Tight?
What that feeling means — and what actually changes it
What does “tight” actually mean?
“Tight” is a feeling, not a diagnosis. We’ll look at what that sensation can represent and why two people — or even two parts of your own body — can feel tight for very different reasons.
What can actually change the feeling?
Through simple movement experiments, you’ll explore how different inputs can affect sensation and range of motion — and start building a more useful way to decide what your body might need.
Why doesn’t stretching always help?
Stretching can be useful, but it isn’t the only way to change how your body feels or moves. We’ll explore why its effects can be temporary, and when other strategies may make more sense.
What if “tight” doesn’t mean what you think it means?
A muscle that feels tight isn’t necessarily short, stiff, or in need of more stretching. “Tightness” is a sensation that can be influenced by your nervous system, how you’ve been using your body, fatigue, strength and control, and more.
This workshop will help you understand what that feeling can actually be telling you — so you have more options than automatically stretching the same spot again.
